COOLEY March 2019 Wrapup

31 days in March makes for a long month as we traversed the vernal equinox and headed towards springtime. The Clark College Chorale Choir concert was a highlight as choral singing was a prominent part of my formative years. Stayed close to home most of the month with the exception of shows in Salem and a benefit show at the Molalla Adult Center - my first time to Molalla!

Now — gearing up for the West Coast COOLEY Show Senior Appreciation Tour beginning April 17-18 in Redmond and Seattle - then on to Eugene, San Francisco, Sacramento… 15 shows plus house concerts in Palo Alto and Lake Shasta CA. Just prior to leaving, I’ll be at the Vault at LaScala in Beaverton — Wed. April 17 from 6-9p. I’ll be back in May - have a great April everyone!

If you missed any of my social media posts for March, here are my favorite below.

With pianist extraordinaire, Dustin Hunley, Jazz Piano and Vocals, showing off his new VOX amps USA mini-amp just before show-time at the The Laurelhurst Club "Key West" dance night.

Great night at the Cameo Cafe with COOLEY Show Band performing Elton John & Billy Joel hit songs plus COOLEY Originals.

Wonderful workshop with Gretta Matassa (www.gretamatassa.com) this weekend. She's an outstanding Seattle jazz singer — her instructor/mentor style is so very accomplished, helpful, inspiring. The classes were hosted by Portland jazz singer Paula Bryne (http://www.paulabyrnemusic.com). (pictured singing, with Gretta instructing/tracking from the piano)

Spent a 2 days and nights at Breitenbush Hot Springs near Detroit OR a couple weekends ago. It’s one of the best places to relax and work on music. No, phones, cell service or internet.https://breitenbush.com/

One year ago just before the Clark College -- Vancouver, Washington Chorale Choir Concert under the direction of Dr. Jacob Funk. (pictured) We’ll do it again this evening at 7:30p. Dr. Funk announced just tonight at dress rehearsal that he has been granted tenure at Clark - he deserves it as he’s a first-rate educator and a super positive two-legged. The concert is at Vancouver First United Methodist Church on 33rd and Main in Vancouver.

Great concert Thurs. night with the Clark College -- Vancouver, Washington Chorale. Here I am afterward with the happy conductor, Dr. Jacob Funk = )
